It is amazing how we collapse concepts with what is real. We talk about concepts like we can touch them or grab them in our hands or see them with our eyes. I think it is the source of our poor relationship with reality and most of our suffering.

Here is the trick. Ask “What does it look like?” So you wake up in the morning, you are in bed, you open your eyes, your mouth stinks, you feel blooded from last nights pizza or the Chinese food you ate, you scratch your ass. Here is a question, what is being a “nice” person going to look like today? What is being a “father” going to look like today. If you stayed in bed and kept telling your self I am this or that, and never left your bed, sorry, you are not a father, you are not a nice person, you are just someone who is in bed. All concepts have to look like something in the real world. So if I am a loving person, this only shows up when the doing of it shows up, otherwise you have thoughts and they don’t make a difference for anyone and reality stays the same.

Here is how you know what a concept is: Imagine I suck up all the human beings from the planet now. Just imagine. What is left on the planet is everything else. So the buildings, cars, roads… animals, plants are all here but we are not. Now is there a “problem” on the planet? Is the whole in the ozone layer a problem? Is there anything that is “hard?” Is there “love” or “peace” or “joy” or “morality?” You get the picture. Funny isn’t it. You put the human being in the soup, man oh man….
